HEBA Fire is proud to offer the new standard for halon replacement. Chemetron™ Novec3M 1230 fire suppression systems work with state-of-the-art control and detection components to identify and extinguish fires, long before substantial fire damage can occur. Novec3M 1230 fluid offers a long-term, sustainable technology that has the greatest margin of safety, the lowest GWP for halocarbon alternatives and zero ozone depletion potential. Chemetron™ fixed nozzle, fire suppression systems use 3M™ Novec™ 1230 fire protection fluid for total flooding applications. The agent has 0.0 ozone depletion potential, an atmospheric lifetime of just five days, and a global warming potential of 1.0. Every ™ system is custom engineered for the specific application using the most effective, yet efficient arrangement of storage, actuation, distribution and discharge components.
Halon 1301 Replacement
Novec 1230 fire protection fluid has been developed as a Halon 1301 replacement alternative to HFCs, HCFCs, and PFCs in special hazard, high value applications. It has unique qualities that end use safety and environmental sustainability. Novec 1230 fluid is low in toxicity and environment impact. It is a liquid at room temperature, with a low vapor pressure, which allows for ease in handling, storage and shipping. Stored as a liquid but expelled as a gas, NOVEC 1230 fluid is easy to handle, field rechargeable and requires about the same number of cylinders as halocarbon agents.
How does it work?
Extinguishing via its cooling effect, Novec 1230 fluid works as a gas, yet it is a liquid at room temperature. Because it is not stored or shipped from the factory in pressurized cylinders, Novec 1230 fluid is easy to handle and charge. Novec 1230 fluid systems allow for more efficient use of space, requiring about the same number of cylinders as conventional halocarbon agents.
